The dry side stays dry; the wet side goes down the drain
QuARTz linear shower drains allow the bathroom floor to take on a new dimension of design features as, for the first time, a floor drain can become part of a style statement. QuARTz shower drains integrate into the overall design and style of the bath and shower area. They are also compatible with different floor structures, and flooring materials. They also eliminate complicated sloping structures to the floor and making the laying of the tile a much simpler task. As an in-floor water barrier, QuARTz linear shower drains become the barrier and can eliminate other barriers to the shower layout such as half-walls and doors. That allows you a much more open and flowing floor plan to your bath and shower area.
However, it isn't all about design and beauty. QuARTz drains allow the floor to be level, ADA-compliant, and allow effortless access even to wheelchairs. By using the drains in the threshold area, you have a level threshold that keeps the wet zone from encroaching on the dry zone without reducing wheelchair access for the impaired.
Two material finishes
QuARTz shower drains are designed to last. Made of grade 304 stainless steel and electro-polished to produce a uniform, high luster, they have an extremely smooth finish. The stainless steel used in making QuARTz shower drains is austenitic stainless steel; this material is non-magnetic and does not attract other metal/magnetic particles that can encourage either bacterial growth or corrosion in the drain.
The other finish available is oil-rubbed bronze. It actually is made up of the same non-magnetic, stainless steel material but is finished to give the appearance of a rustic, European-looking antique bronze.
The ultimate in artistic design - lighting
Probably the most interesting aspect of the QuARTz linear shower drains is not in its incredible design or efficient draining, or even in the beautiful metals; it is in the lights. The QuARTz shower drains have an option to include rechargeable, water activated LED lights attached to the back side of the grate. When water is present, the lights go on in whatever color you choose. When the water stops running into the drain, the lights go off. The lights shining up through the stylized grate patterns have a dramatic and memorable effect when you see it for the first time. These water activated lights bring yet another dimension to the striking impact that trench shower drains create and the openness that they allow. Assuming lights are on about 15 minutes a day, a single charge will last about three months.
Elegant enough for home applications; efficient enough for commercial ones
Not only do QuARTz linear shower drains offer great style, elegance and functionality to the home, they are equally better choices in commercial applications such as spas and hospitals. The fact that you can join together the varying lengths available means that you can create wet zone barriers of any length around an area. Each drain can easily handle 7 gallons per minute which is enough to keep up with any shower head.
