Linear Shower Drain Knowledge

With linear bathroom drainage system being a fairly new concept in the US, there are some believers and some skeptics. No one has embraced the product category quite as much as John Whipple. John is a highly regarded plumbing contractor in Vancouver, Canada and within the plumbing community is considered an expert when it comes to linear shower drainage. He has installed all manufacturers and I would like to share an expert from is most recent posting on John’s http://no-curb.blogspot.com/ website.
“I sell many different types of linear drains and one of my favorites is the linear drain from ACO. I love the fact that the ACO drains are made in Germany – Electro-polished in Germany and work with any kind of shower waterproofing systems.
You do not need to use Kerdi. You don't have to use a rubber liner. Noble Seal TS is not mandatory. The choice in waterproofing products is endless. You could hot mop the shower floor if you live in California
If you look closely in this picture you will get a glimpse as to the main feature I love about these ACO drains. The drains are sold in metric sizes not imperial. Why is this so great?
Look at the picture. The ACO drain is a 1200mm version. Notice how the drain is the exact size of the large tiles in the wall and floor! The tiles are 600mm wide. 2 x 600mm = 1200mm the exact size of the ACO drain.”
This is great insight from the horse’s mouth.
